RF over Glass (RFoG), RF over Fiber (RFoF) là gì?

RF over Glass (RFoG), RF over Fiber (RFoF) là công nghệ truyền tín hiệu vô tuyến (RF) đi khoảng cách xa dùng sợi quang.  Giải pháp dùng một sợi quang với công nghệ ghép giữa ghép kênh theo bước sóng và ghép kênh theo thời gian thay thế cho cáp đồng trục để truyền tín hiệu RF. Tại đầu phát tín hiệu RF được chuyển thành tín hiệu quang chuyển đi xa bằng diot laser, sau đó được chuyển ngược lại qua bộ chuyển đổi laser sang RF tại đầu thu.

Fiber to the x (FTTx) is a generic term for any broadband network architecture that uses optical fiber to replace all or part of the usual metal local loop used for last mile telecommunications. The generic term originated as a generalization of several configurations of fiber deployment (FTTN, FTTC, FTTB, FTTH...), all starting by FTT but differentiated by the last letter, which is substituted by an x in the generalization.
